    Dear EARA members,

I didn’t plan to organize a symposium, but since the deadline for submissions was extended, I decided I’d give it a try – maybe there is someone among EARA members who would like to organise a symposium on loneliness among adolescents together? 😉

At the moment two presentations are prepared – one concerns social consequences of loneliness (how loneliness predicts being liked by others and liking others), and the other–which will be presented by Katarzyna Kwiatkowska, my colleague from Cardinal Stefan WyszyÅ„ski University in Warsaw–concerns how the level of self-esteem can affect the level of loneliness in time (this is a study including experimental treatment in the form of workshops for students).

In this way there is still room for two presenters from different countries. The idea is to discuss the role loneliness in adolescent development and everyday functioning.

If you have a study to present and are interested in organising symposium together you can contact me: maria.kwiatkowska@uksw.edu.pl or mms.kwiatkowska@gmail.com

    Best,

    Hi!

Just a quick update of my previous message:

    – Flore Geukens from KU Leuven joined us as the third presenter! Flore will present the results of an experimental study focused on loneliness and stress reactivity in adolescents.

    – I am also pleased to inform that Marlies Maes from KU Leuven accepted to be our discussant!

In this way there is still room for one presenter from outside Belgium and Poland.

If you have a study to present and are interested in organising symposium together you can contact me: maria.kwiatkowska@uksw.edu.pl or mms.kwiatkowska@gmail.com

    Best,
    Maria Kwiatkowska
