Abstract: Writing scientific grant proposals is an important part of a researcher’s work, yet many researchers struggle with getting their grants funded. In this workshop, you will learn to write up your research ideas in a format that will help to get your message across and apply scientific writing skills that allow you to convince reviewers that you have a great idea. In the workshop, we focus on: – Things to think about before writing – How to craft different parts of your grant proposal – Tips and tricks to write more clearly and effectively.

The workshop will include a presentation on successful writing, combined with examples of effective and less-effective writing techniques. You will learn to use writing templates to improve structure, clarity, and cohesion. We will pay attention to several aspects of grant proposals, such as creating a Gantt chart, creating a multi-year funding plan, and developing a narrative CV.

The workshop will be interactive, with ample opportunity for participants to ask questions and engage in discussion. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the grant-writing process and practical tools to enhance their proposals.
